If fruit is grown under the rainforest canopy it can achieve a much better return for farmers.

Income from rainforest

• Clearance: $400 per acre (only once)
• Rearing cattle: $60 per acre a year
• Managed rainforest: $2400 per acre a year

A profitable return is probably the best incentive to keep the rainforests!
